Everas Community Services 5K Run/Walk/Roll

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Who can participate?
Anyone who registers can participate! Invite your friends and family to join you in supporting the mission of Everas Community Services.   If you're not participating, come support the runners/walkers/rollers that are!

2. Why are we doing this?
As an organization that is committed to caring for our community this is another great opportunity to come together, enjoy each other’s company and to help raise funds for an important cause that is vital to the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

3. What does Give or Get Mean?

It means that you either commit to “Giving’ that amount yourself or ‘Getting’ it by requesting donations from Friends and Families to support your goal.

4. What does someone get for participating?

Most importantly, you get all the feel good benefits of knowing you helped to improve the quality of life of people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  In addition, we will provide customized 5K t-shirts, bibs, and finishing medals on the day of the event for all participants.

5. Can I donate to my friend's 5K page?

We absolutely encourage friends supporting one another.  However, keep in mind the credit for the donation will go to the person who set up the giving page (not to the donor).  This way, all funds donated on his or her page will count to the amount they have raised.  This also ensures that no gifts are double counted.

6. What happens if someone doesn't raise their minimum of $200?
When the participant registers for the race, they must pre-authorize a charge on their card. 2 weeks after the race, any balance below the $200 will be charged the card on file. For example, if someone raised $170, they will be charged on their card $30.

7. Can I finish a 5K?
If you're in decent health, the answer is yes. One of the reasons the event is a 5K (3.2miles) is so that we can have the broadest participant base possible. That makes the event more fun and raises money for our mission.
